Jeff took and liked this picture because it made my little arm look so big, so I had to include it.  Not one of my faves for various reasons...but it's for Jeff.  ;)

Leading up to Halloween

I don't think I've mentioned it here, but Benjamin wanted to be a tomato for Halloween.  And wanted a tomato birthday party.  Pinterest had NOTHING about tomato birthday parties, but I did find an cheap/easy/DIY tomato costume here, and her brilliant use of T-shirts could be applied to any other costume that might be round and squishy.  So, I made the tomato body using her directions, but Benjamin and I came up with our own leaves and stem that we thought looked more tomatoey.    The kids helped me stuff the tomato, and they had a blast doing it.

Tomatoey, right?  He chose the height of the stem and the eye hole placement.  You should have heard his giggles while we were putting it on.  He was thrilled.  And he wore it for fun quite a bit when it was not Halloween.

Jonathan did not have an idea for Halloween even up to the day before.  I hate doing anything at the last minute, but as we looked on Pinterest together (I suppose I had original ideas before I could cheat with Pinterest,) he liked the Identity Thief idea.  That was super easy, so we decided to use it.  Jeff liked it so much that he went to work as an Identity Thief, and the kids loved helping him get ready.  He generally doesn't dress up at work because I guess it's not entirely appropriate for someone in his role to do at this particular company, but he decided the Identity Thief costume was acceptable.

Grandma Doreen came by to give the kids some of her amazing-as-always cookies, and we tried to get a decent picture with her.  We had mixed results...but the cookies were very appreciated!

Grandpa sent cards and money, which the kids were not expecting, so you can see how excited they were.  They used their money for...of course...Legos.  They enjoyed every penny out of those sets.
