Enjoy these first pictures from our trip. We all had a great time. It was certainly an adventure...doing this kind of trip with three kiddos, all in very different stages. I'll tell the stories when I post pictures from our regular camera. Here's a quickie post for now. Enjoy!

If All Went Well...

When you read this, I hope I am almost home from a trip with the kids.  I am posting beforehand and scheduling this post to appear at the end of the weekend.

Jeff is still traveling a lot, and he has to travel again this weekend for work.  The kids and I are going to tag along.  We are going to pick Jonathan up from school today (Thursday) and go to Jeff's destination, which happens to be near Legoland.  And tomorrow we are taking them to Legoland.  Jeff and I have been planning this for months and have managed to keep it a secret from the kids, at least up until the moment of writing this post.  They have NO idea.  We are going to break the news to them this afternoon in the car.  We are both soooo excited to tell them.

I'm a little apprehensive about the trip - it is a little crazy traveling with our kids right now, and our most recent tag-along trip with Jeff really threw all of them for a loop and took them awhile to recover.  But, we decided to risk it and go anyway.  We don't have this opportunity very often, and our kids won't be young enough to enjoy Legoland forever.  I hope to post pictures and stories when we return, but I won't make promises about how quickly I'll get to it.  I still owe the blog some posts about our previous trip with Jeff!

When Life Gives Us Lemons...

Our house came with a thriving Meyer lemon tree. I hear that you can't buy them in a store because they don't travel well. As you can see here, they are HUGE, have an delicious smell, and are great in lemonade. (Or, I should say that Jeff makes great lemonade.) We have more blossoms on our tree this year than ever before. Next winter and spring, when the fruit is ripe, we'll have lots to share with you!

Charlotte's Birthday Party

Finally...I'm trying to catch up a little on blogging.  This is a recurrent theme, isn't it?  :)  And now Blogger has changed its setup and I'm having a hard time learning its new tricks.  At least uploading photos is easier.

Anyway, our sweet niece, Charlotte, turned one, and these are pictures from her party.  First:  our kids coloring pictures for her at the coloring station.  They took this very seriously!  This is the only time I have ever seen Grace color in the lines, and Jonathan took great care to make his picture realistic.  Benjamin just tried not to eat the crayons.

 Charlotte stayed up as long as she could, but she had to take a break from opening gifts so she could take a nap.  Corinne had lots of help opening Charlotte's gifts.

I love this picture because it shows the life of a first child:  adored by her parents and soaking in all of their attention.  And attention and love from all of us, too.  Happy birthday, Charlotte!
