Proud

Yes, I'm a proud mom. He wrote his name!

I was truly afraid he'd learn how to read before he'd learn to write his name. That didn't happen! This is his first attempt, and also his first success, at writing his name without help remembering which letter to write or how to write it. I have a kiddo who only likes to try things if he's sure he already knows how to do them. That particular character trait makes it hard for him to learn new things...we're working on it.

Paci

She prefers her thumb, so I just let her play with her pacifiers. But, she really enjoys grabbing one to chew on if she can get it into her mouth. Pretty cute.

Let's Take a Walk

She really does "love" her lovey

Doesn't his hand look big next to her?

Let's go!

Jonathan's ready to jump on his bike! One of my walking buddies in our old town-can't remember which one-had the brilliant idea to clamp the blanket to the stroller with links. Brilliant. The sun is just too low in the afternoon for the stroller shade to do the job alone. We had a great walk! I missed my walking buddies, though.

And, That's Me

This post will make more sense if you read the post below this one, "That's Our Girl," first.

Seriously. Please go do that first....

After she read it, my mom sent this picture to me, saying that Jonathan and Grace take after their mom.

Me at 8 mos.

Thanks for the picture, Mom!!!

I wore a brace thingy (the technical term) during my babyhood, as you can see, to correct a click in my hip.

And, that's our boy...

Pictures

I just ordered more than 400 pictures from Snapfish. If you know me, you know I'm always looking out for a deal. I got an email from Snapfish saying that shipping was free for orders over $30. And since shipping is the expensive part of ordering pictures, and I was waaay behind on printing pictures, this was a great deal for me! I've spent the last few days uploading pictures to print rather than to blog! It was worth it, though, because I saved almost $20 on shipping. Also, I ordered through Ebates, so I'm going to get 10% back. Huge thanks to The Frugal Muse (see sidebar) for alerting me to Ebates. They give you cash back on just about any retailer you can imagine. I am officially a fan. If you want me to email you an invitation, let me know!

OK, enough details about deals. I'm excited to scrapbook these days. Not the best timing, I guess, because my two little helpers really don't allow me to scrapbook unless they're sleeping. But I haven't felt super excited to scrapbook very often since we've moved, and I'm happy to be excited about it now. And to sew. I'm trying to catch up on sewing as well. I guess my timing is not the best for multiple things, but it's nice to feel crafty anyway.

The grandmas and aunties out there will be happy to know that I took some cute pictures during the past few days while I was not blogging. I'll work on posting them for you...in the next few days!

First Tummy Nap

She got herself into that position and fell asleep without fussing about it, so I guess she's old enough to choose her tummy now!

Celebrating at Red Robin

Since Jeff's birthday is this month, Red Robin emailed me a coupon for a free burger for him. We celebrated yesterday, a little bit early.
Yes, it's water in the cup! Can you tell that Jonathan was hot?

Cold Stone Creamery emailed a freebie for Jeff, too, but that was really too much to handle after lunch at Red Robin. We'll celebrate there later this month. Anybody know of other places that email freebies for birthdays?
