More Haiti Earthquake Relief

You may have noticed that the Haiti Earthquake has been on my mind, heart, and blog. Undoubtedly, you've seen and heard the heartbreak and tragedy associated with the earthquake and may feel overwhelmed by the daunting task of trying to help. While you and I can't help every single person, we can each help someone, and if we each jump in and help, we can make a huge difference.

Here's what we can do:

*Pray. Pray for the people who are in need to have their needs met. Pray that the people who can give will be moved to give. Pray for those who are suffering.

*Give. Even if you only have a tiny bit to give, remember that every little bit helps!

You can give to Compassion here or to another trustworthy charity (I posted about a couple others earlier.)

*Blog. This doesn't cost anything but a little time. Use what you have: your blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc. You can use your influence to inspire others to action!

For every person who blogs about what you do to help with Haiti earthquake relief and leaves your link in the Mr. Linky below by January 21, I will give $1 to Compassion in addition to what I have already to committed to give on my own. If you don't have a blog, you may leave a comment below or email me about what you are doing by January 21, and I will donate $.50 to Compassion. Please remember to mention what you are doing so that you will also inspire others to action!

Updated: The Compassion team is on the ground right now in Haiti to provide relief.

She's Creeping

Grace has started creeping (almost army crawling?) on her elbows and knees and belly in the past few days. I'll try to post a video soon. Sometimes she gets up on her hands and knees, but as you can see, when her belly comes up, her head goes down. It's pretty funny. And pretty cute.

Also, my dad is starting chemotherapy treatments this morning for the mass on his liver. It would mean so much if you'd be willing to pray for him. Thank you!

Congratulations to Emily

Congratulations to Emily, and to her mom and dad, Leanne and Robin. Emily became a big sister yesterday when Payton Mae was born, 7 lbs., 6 oz., 19 in. Everyone is home from the hospital and doing fine. Congrats to all!

Three Years Ago

We arrived at our new home exactly three years ago. To our friends that we left behind: We love you and we'll never forget your kindness toward us in general and especially as we prepared to move, and we still treasure you all! As I looked through pictures to prepare this post, I was blown away again at how you lent a helping hand, gave us a going away party, shared meals with us, let us stay with you, spent time with us, and were just wonderful in general. In honor of that anniversary, I thought I'd post some of our moving pictures.

So does he. We quickly remembered that the tire swing should really only be swinging when the other swings aren't up, so he relocated.

Tee ball. He's definitely a lefty, but needs a lot of help remembering how to hit left-handed. It wasn't a sunny day, but that's normal at this time of year. And, since so many of you have been experiencing sub-freezing temps, we figured we should take advantage of our sweatshirt weather, sun or no sun!
