Well, we came back to real life...and if you have a kid in elementary school, you know that the end of the school year is extremely busy. Here's just a bit of what was going on.
Jonathan's school had Open House. Here he is with his wonderful teacher.
His name and photo where on display in the hallway. Who knew?!
Here are some more of the fun things he had on display in his classroom...sprinkled throughout this post. The groups of desks were arranged like covered wagons as the students had just been working through their Oregon Trail simulation.
We celebrated the decision/realization that Benjamin would be attending kindergarten by buying his school lunch bag. A tomato bag, of course!
Jonathan created a working Lego pen, so Grace had to follows suit.
When piles of artwork began to come home from her classroom, she grabbed the Scotch tape and turned her room into her personal art gallery.
Jonathan's grade had a state float parade, and he put a lot of work into his float.
There is a nature center with birds near us, and we spent one Saturday enjoying it.
Go fish was a favorite in May.
So was constructing...and de-constructing.
Grace loved finding roly-polies.
Benjamin still loved to play with his "war cards." My mom got each kid a deck for a souvenir in Kauai.
Watching the pizza take shape at Costco is always a necessary stop!
Grace hams it up with a couple of buddies at school.
Time for some summery window stickers.
The perfect place to read, apparently?
Ms. Olivia tames the boys' mops. They look so cute after haircuts. This is the only time their hair is styled. At all.
All that haircut-watching wore Grace out.
When you don't know how to hold your cards, the ottoman helps with a game of Go Fish.
Jonathan's state float parade. He had trouble driving his float, but it was still a fun idea!
I had a bunch of pictures of the floats, but the kids were all wearing school T-shirts, and I didn't want to take the time to edit out the name on every since shirt, so...you can just imagine the parade, I guess.
His school does a really good job honoring our country.
Grace's school had its first grade song fest with a picnic afterwards.
