Jonathan's Birthday Party

Our first Saturday after the Thanksgiving trip, we had Jonathan's birthday party.  It was our first time to host a party that was not at our home.  Jonathan wanted a Lego Chima party, and I wanted a bunch of wiggly boys to be someplace with physical activity on a day that might or might not give us the room to be outdoors.  In other words, I didn't want them bouncing around inside our house.  So, with a little bit of discussion and convincing, we talked him into having the party at the local rock climbing place.  We knew already that he loved it there, and since it's not well-known, none of the other boys had been there before.  Here's the scene Jonathan set up for his party invitation:  a Lego Chima rock climbing party.

Jonathan wanted to label the food in punny ways, so we did.

And here's Jonathan making it to the top, which he did a lot of times at his party.

Thank you, Doreen, for your locally famous cookies!

We aren't picturing the other boys or their belaying parents here on the blog because we don't have permission from all of the, but just trust me when I say that a good time was had by all.  And huge thanks to my mom for entertaining Benjamin and Grace so that we could make Jonathan feel special without any competition from siblings.  It was a great time!
