The Christmas tradition on my side of the family usually includes brunch cooked by mom, but the date that we celebrate depends on when we can all get together. This year, we celebrated at our house on my birthday. Because when one has a December birthday, one does these things!
Here are Charlotte and Grace, just getting warmed up.
A rare photo of the girl cousins together...
And this one, also rare, which I need to print out and hang. Can you believe everyone is showing their teeth?!
Another tradition on this side is that the cousins give gifts to each other and the grown-up siblings don't. The kids are all getting older, so we adults enjoyed stepping back and letting them have fun opening their many gifts.
We do give gifts to Mom and Don, though, and Mom usually makes something yummy for us, like her delicious granola.
The kids had fun digging into their gifts, which involved lots of building and assembling.
After a fun family day, Jeff got a sitter for our kids and took me out to eat for my birthday. Here we are at one of our favorite places sharing our favorite appetizer. Dinner with Jeff was the sweetest part of my 41st birthday.
